Join us for a MICHIGAN WRITERS SERIES readimsuwriterseries_gerbe-6ng with award-winning poet DAN GERBER.
MSU Alumnus Dan Gerber is the author of nine collections of poetry, three novels, a book of short stories, and two books of nonfiction. A former professional race-car driver, he has traveled extensively as a journalist, particularly in Africa.
Gerber’s poetry is marked by a boundless curiosity and deep compassion that marries European Romanticism with American Zen. Whether studying an ancient damselfly trapped in amber or trying to comprehend nuanced memories, Gerber’s poems present the world in ways both familiar and startling.
