Frank Boles Wins Midwest Book Award for “Sailing Into History: Great Lakes Bulk Carriers of the Twentieth Century & the Crews Who Sailed Them.”

Sailing into Hiboles-400story: Great Lakes Bulk Carriers of the 20th Century and the Crews Who Sailed Them,” written by Frank Boles, has been recognized by the Midwest Book Awards as one of the best History books published in the Midwest in 2017. This year’s awards program attracted 206 titles in 31 categories. The Midwest Book Awards program is sponsored by the Midwest Independent Publishing Association (MIPA), which serves the Midwest publishing community.

frank-bolesFrank Boles has served as Director of Central Michigan University’s Clarke Historical Library since 1991. He has also worked as an archivist at the University of Michigan’s Bentley Historical Library and at the Chicago Historical Museum

Boles also won a 2018 Michigan Notable Book Award and will appear on the Michigan Notable Author Tour in June 2018.
